Hon. Ranjan Ramanayake,— To ask the Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare,—
(a) Will he state the amount of money donated to the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment separately in the years 2012/2013 for the promotion of the game of volleyball?
(b) Will he admit that—
(i) the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment generates income predominantly from the money charged from the Sri Lankan workers going abroad; and
(ii) when a large number of Sri Lankans are languishing in camps of Middle East, it is unfair to spend such money on other purposes such as the promotion of the game of volleyball without giving priority to rescue and bring them back to Sri Lanka expeditiously?
(c) If not, why?
