      Hon. Manusha Nanayakkara,— To ask the Minister of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development,—

      (a) Will he state —

      (i) the responsibility that is vested with the "Kapruka" societies, that have been established, in the coconut cultivating areas, under the aegis of the Coconut Cultivation Board;

      (ii) the number of members that have been registered, with the "Kapruka" societies by now;

      (iii) whether the steps will be taken to establish “Kapruka” societies island wide; and

      (iv) if so, the date on which the establishment of "Kapruka" societies will be completed, island wide?

      (b) Will he explain to this House, as to what the “Kapruka Purawara” programme is?

      If not, why ?
