Hon. (Mrs.) Anoma Gamage,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of accidents that have occurred at unguarded level crossings during the years 2012 and 2013;
(ii) the number of persons who became disable due to those accidents; and
(iii) the measures that have been taken to mitigate such accidents?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the places that have been identified with unguarded level crossings;
(ii) separately, the security measures that will be adopted to mitigate accidents in each of those places;
(iii) whether the cost needed to take such precautionary measures has been estimated; and
(iv) if so, the amount of money so estimated?
(c) Will he also inform this House of—
(i) the number of gates and electric signal systems that have been established at level crossings during the past two years;
(ii) the places where such installations were made ; and
(iii) the cost that has been borne for that?
(d) If not, why?
