Hon. Anura Dissanayaka,— To ask the Minister of Technology and Research,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) whether the milk powder imports to Sri Lanka contains substances that are harmful to the human body;
(ii) if so, what those substances are; and
(iii) the types of milk powder that contain such substances?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the name of the institution that carried out tests with regard to the harmful substances contain in milk powder;
(ii) whether the research activities with regard to the above issue has been referred to foreign research institutes;
(iii) if so, the contents of the research reports issued by those foreign institutes; and
(iv) of the courses of action that will be taken with regard to the contaminated milk powder and the importers of such milk powder?
(c) If not, why?
