Hon. Sujeewa Senasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Civil Aviation,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that there is a plan to purchase ten new aircrafts for the Sri Lankan Airlines;
(ii) the amount of money due to be spent on those aircrafts; and
(iii) the country from which those aircrafts will be purchased?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) separately, the loss incurred by the Sri Lankan Airlines and the Mihin Lanka (Private) Ltd. from January 2013 todate;
(ii) the manner in which funds will be raised to purchase new aircrafts to Sri Lankan Airlines which is run at huge losses; and
(iii) whether the purchase of new aircrafts is approved?
(c) If not, why?
