Hon. Ajith Kumara,— To ask the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the CT Scanner of the Kurunegala General Hospital has been defunct for a considerable length of time; and
(ii) as a result of it being defunct, the patients who come to that hospital have to bear a huge expense as they have to go to private institutions to obtain the service of a CT Scanner?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether any measure has been taken to repair the defunct CT Scanner or to install a new one;
(ii) how long it will take; and
(iii) what amount of expenditure will be borne by the Ministry for the purpose?
(c) If not, why?
