Hon Ajith Mannapperuma,— To ask the Minister of Power and Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a contract was awarded to Triad Lanka (Pvt) Ltd by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, in the year 2014 , in order to carry out the publicity campaign pertaining to their products;
(ii) if so, the value of the aforesaid contract;
(iii) whether the accepted tender procedure was followed in awarding the aforesaid contract to the institution concerned;
(iv) if tenders were called, of the institutions that forwarded the bids and the value of the bids concerned;
(v) of the officer who called the aforesaid bids and the section of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation where he is employed; and
(vi) whether they have got a legal right to perform in Ceylon Petroleum Corporation in the aforesaid manner?
(b) Will he state of the basis on which the aforesaid company was selected if the contract mentioned in the (a)(i) has been awarded without calling a tender?
(c) If not, why?
