Hon Ajith Mannapperuma,— To ask the Minister of Power and Energy,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of bitumen barrels that has been purchased by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation from local suppliers for the period from January to June 2014;
(ii) the amount of money, spent in purchasing the aforesaid quantity of bitumen;
(iii) whether all the barrels of bitumen were in a saleable condition;
(iv) if not, the number of bitumen barrels that were in a saleable condition; and
(v) the profit earned or the losse incurred by the Ceylon petroleum Corporation by selling the aforesaid bitumen barrels?
(b) Will he inform this House of the accepted procedure that was followed in selecting the aforesaid company which supplied bitumen?
(c) Will he state—
(i) the amount of money due to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation for the sale of bitumen barrels for the period from January to December 2013; and
(ii) separately, the aforesaid amount of money that has to be recovered as per each institution?
(d) If not, why?
