Hon. Wasantha Aluwihare,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a bridge has been built across the stream that flows from the Thambarawalliya Mountain on the by Road between the Sri Saranankara Road and Egodagama Road in Aluwihare, Matale;
(ii) even though there is a road on one side of the bridge the other side has no path to move about; and
(iii) no notice board has been put up in relation to the construction of this bridge?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the institutions or persons who made the plan of the aforesaid construction;
(ii) as to who handled the construction;
(iii) separately of the dates of commencement and completion of construction;
(iv) length and width of the bridge;
(v) the amount of money spent on the construction; and
(vi) the manner of obtaining funds for the construction?
(c) Will he state—
(i) the benefits to be accrued to the people as a result of the construction of the said bridge;
(ii) whether steps will be taken to complete the extension of the road connected to that bridge;
(iii) the period of time it will take; and
(iv) the amount of money proposed to be spent on it?
(d) If not, why?
