Hon. Anura Dissanayaka,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, Local Government and Democratic Governance and Minister of Buddha Sasana,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether an advertisement was published by the government under the heading "Beloved Senior Citizens" stating that the salary anomalies of the public servants who had retired before 01.01.2006 would be removed;
(ii) of the reasons as to why the aforesaid salary anomalies have not been removed so far despite the fact that the said advertisement was published during the 2010 presidential election period carrying the signature of the former president with the caption "I say what I do, and do what I say" at the bottom of that advertisement; and
(iii) whether he is aware that, in response to a question that was raised in this Parliament on 29.11.2012, a statement was made in this House which said that the aforesaid salary anomalies will be removed very soon?
(b) Will he state the date on which action will be taken to rectify the aforesaid salary anomalies?
(c) If not, why?
