Hon. H.R. Mithrapala,— To ask the Minister of Finance,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) whether it has been proposed to provide the public servants with a salary increment of Rs. 10,000/= under the 100 day programme;
(ii) whether the aforesaid proposal was made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe or by the presidential candidate Hon. Maithreepala Sirisena; and
(iii) if not, the person who presented it ?
(b) Is he aware that only an amount of Rs. 5000/= has been provided as per the proposal mentioned in (a) (i) above, in spite of the fact that the time period of the 100 day programme has by now expired?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the balance amount of Rs. 5000/= of the salary increment proposed can be provided in the month of June;
(ii) if not and if further time is required for the said matter, until what date such time will be required;
(iii) if the balance amount of Rs. 5000/= and all the allowances will be added to the basic salary, the date on which it will be done; and
(iv) accordingly, the date on which the arrears and the balance salary will be paid?
(d) Will he also state—
(i) whether a loan has been obtained from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to pay the salaries of public servants; and
(ii) if so, what the aforesaid amount is?
(e) If not, why?
