Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma,— To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) an agreement was entered into between the Matara Municipal Council and the ‘Ekamuthu Farmers Organization’ of No. 112/3, Raja Maha Vihara Road, Kotikagoda, Walgama North, Matara for the purpose of developing the culvert located on the Behethgabadawa Road in Paramulla within the Matara Municipal Council limits out of the funds allocated under the “Gamen Gamata–Doren Dorata” (Village to Village – Door to Door) Project implemented in the year 2014 by the Department of Local Government; and
(ii) relevant payments have not been paid to the Farmers’ Organization concerned although Construction work was commenced on 17 November 2014 and completed in December 2014 as per File No: ම.ම.න.ස/නා.ඉ.දෙ/wc-3/2014– දො.දො. – 04 Contracts?
(b) Will he inform this House of the date on which the payment in respect of the contract will be released to the ‘Ekamuthu Farmers Organization’ of Walgama North as the construction work has been completed and the invoice has been submitted to claim the payment?
(c) If not, why?
