Hon. S. Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the financial irregularity that took place in the Technical College of Jaffna;
(ii) if so, the reason for not taking any action in this regard;
(iii) whether a transfer was given to the Director of the Technical College when the financial fraud committed by him was confirmed;
(iv) if so, the reasons for the non implementation of the transfer; and
(v) whether the said transfer has been suspended?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether there are branches of the Jaffna Technical College within the District;
(ii) if not, whether this Technical College is sufficient for 650,000 people living in this district; and
(iii) if not, the steps that will be taken in this regard?
(c) If not, why?
