      Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—

      (a) Will he inform this House,—

      (i) whether the government takes action to increase  the extent of  forest lands  in Sri Lanka;

      (ii) if so, the  aforesaid forests; and

      (iii) the number of hectares expected to be  increased in each forest, separately?

      (b) Will  he also inform this  House—

      (i) whether afforestation   will be done;

      (ii) if so, whether  areas  have been selected  for it;

      (iii) the aforesaid areas; and

      (iv) the number of hectares in which afforestation will be done in each area, separately ?

      (c) If  not, why?
