Hon. Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila,—To ask the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) it has been planned to do sanitary fillings in an area of 80 acres in Wanathawilluwa, Aruwakkalu area by using the railway line to transport the garbage collected in places like Bloemendal and Meethotamulla;
(ii) it has been planned in that project to construct a garbage exchange centre in Meethotamulla, Kolonnawa, to improve the railway tracks and to purchase the equipment;
(iii) the budget for 2015 allocated Rs.14,000 million for this project; and
(iv) the approval of the Cabinet was obtained for the procurement of the first 02 stages of the project at the end of 2014?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the current progress of that project; and
(ii) if that project has been stopped, the reasons for that?
(c) If not, why?
