Hon. Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a musical concert by the name of “Wayo” was scheduled to be held on 24th September 2016, to raise funds for the Army hospital;
(ii) buying two tickets for the concert at the cost of Rs.7,500/= each had been made compulsory to the officers employed at the Army Hospital bearing the rank of Major and above, while buying one ticket at the cost of Rs.7,500/= had been made compulsory to the officers in the other ranks; and
(iii) the officers have faced inconvenience due to the inability to pay such a large sum of money?
(b) Will he inform this House whether action will be taken to refund the money thus forcefully obtained from the particular officers?
(c) If not, why?
