Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa,—To ask the Minister of Public Administration and Management,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a security clearance report is obtained by the relevant appointing authority before new recruits to the Public Service are confirmed in service;
(ii) approval by the security forces is rejected, if any person harbouring a grudge against the appointee informed them that the relevant person had supported the L.T.T.E .combatants; and
(iii) the appointments are terminated as a result?
(b) Will he inform this house—
(i) whether action will be taken to re-grant the appointments terminated in this manner; and
(ii) whether action will be taken to make the requirement for a security clearance report invalid under the good governance?
(c) If not, why?
