Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma,—To ask the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,—
(a) Will he admit the importance of maintaining the SLTB bus service which is a major component of state transport as a service to compete the bus service of the private sector?
(b) Will he inform this House separately as per each depot —
(i) of the number of buses belonging to the SLTB Bus depots in the district of Matara as at 31.12.2014;
(ii) of the amount of staff of each of the above depots as per each occupation as at 01.06.2016; and
(iii) of the number of buses provided to the SLTB Bus depots of the district of Matara subsequent to 01.01.2015?
(c) Will he state this House separately for each year of the district of Matara—
(i) the annual turnover of the SLTB bus depots; and
(ii) of the extent of roads covered by the SLTB;
in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 in Kilometers?
(d) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the number of bus depots expected to be further established in the district of Matara as per the requirement of the passangers; and
(ii) of the locations identified for the same?
(e) If not, why?
