Hon. (Dr.) Bandula Gunawardana,— To ask Minister of Industry and Commerce,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) the industrial plants that have been established under the proposal No. 201 of the 2016 budget that proposes to set up large number of environmentally sensitive industries in specifically identified areas such as Puttalam, Hambanthota and Kilinochchi;
(ii) the indices used to identify environmentally sensitive industries;
(iii) the environmentally sensitive industries located in Export Processing Zones of Sri Lanka and outside of them; and
(iv) the measures recommended by the government to prevent adverse effects on environment from the aforesaid industries?
(b) If not, why?
