Hon. (Dr.) Rohana Pushpa Kumara,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he submit to this House—
(i) the total number of AIDS patients reported in Sri Lanka up to now ;
(ii) out of them, the number of patients who died of the disease ;
(iii) the number of patients who contracted AIDS through blood transfusion ;
(iv) the number of patients who became afflicted with AIDS through drug injection ;
(v) the number of children who contracted the disease from infected mothers?
(b) Will he inform this House of—
(i) the total expenditure incurred by the Ministry of Health in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 for the treatment of AIDS patients ;
(ii) the programmes being implemented at present by the Ministry of Health to combat the spread of AIDS?
(c) If not, why?
