Hon. Heshan Withanage,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of army camps located in Ratnapura district;
(ii) of whether permanent lands have been provided to locate those camps;
(iii) under what basis the lands were provided to the army camp situated near ‘Chandrika Wewa’ in Embilipitiya;
(iv) the owner of this land;
(v) it is admitted that people living near this land and people who use
‘Chandrika Wewa’ on a daily basis will have to face severe hardships by building an army camp;
(vi) whether approval has been obtained to build permanent buildings in the tank reserve;
(vii) if so, the institutions that have given approval ?
(b) If not, why?
