Hon. S. C. Muthukumarana,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that Thambuttegama Hospital is one of the Base Hospitals in the Anuradhapura district that belong to the North Central Provincial Council; and
(ii) if so, will he admit that patients from Divisional Secretariat Divisions such as Thambuttegama, Galnewa, Rajanganaya, Thalawa, Ipalogama and Nochchiyagama in the Anuradhapura distirct, and patients from areas such as Mahawa, Galgamuwa and Meegalewa in the North Western Province get treatments from this hospital?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the number of in – house patients who get treatments in the first ward/ accident ward in this hospital per day;
(ii) the number of beds in this ward;
(iii) whether he can be satisfied about the facilities provided to the patients;
(iv) whether he is aware that a new ward complex has been built for this hospital in the previous year;
(v) the reason for non completion of its work up to now; and
(vi) whether he intervenes to complete the work on the new building and declare open it?
(c) If not, why?
