Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the provisions apportioned for each tank rehabilitated in the Galewela Divisional Secretariat Division and the number of acres of paddy fields fed from each such tank under the project initiated by the Agrarian Development Commissioner’s Office of Matale of the Ministry of Agriculture in the year 2016;
(ii) separately, by each Grama Niladhari Division, the name of each farmer organization which secured the contract for rehabilitation;
(iii) separately, the profit made by the said farmer organizations from each contract; and
(iv) if the profit had been credited to the account of the farmer organization, whether details of same can be tabled?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) if the project contracts secured by farmer organizations had been awarded to subcontractors, whether he will table such subcontract agreements;
(ii) whether the Agrarian Development Officers have granted consent to award subcontracts by verbal agreement without entering into agreements;
(iii) the benefits and the commission received by farmer organizations from each project; and
(iv) the benefits and commissions received by farmer organizations by awarding subcontracts and the same as a percentage of the contract?
(c) If not, why?
