Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he admits that the garbage problem has become serious issue;
(ii) of the subsidies and assistance provided to the local government institutions by the Ministry to solve this garbage problem;
(iii) of the local government institutions that implement projects with the financial provisions of the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government and Sports; and
(iv) of the steps taken by the Ministry to solve the garbage problem?
(b) If not why?
