The Women Parliamentarians Caucus of the Parliament conducted a women empowerment programme for women in Nothern Province in Killinochchi on 22.03.2017 to mark International Women’s Day.
At that programme, the Ministry of City Planning and Water Supply donated 100 Toilets for the area and the Ministry of Primary Industries conducted an awareness programme to increase annual income by up to Rs. 100,000.00 for ginger and pepper cultivations.
Further, the Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation conducted training for 100 women on self-employment and the Ministry of Development Strategies & International Trade provided technological support for 100 women entrepreneurs.
