Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether compensation is provided to the passengers and pedestrians who get killed and get injured by road accidents;
(ii) if so, of the money allocated for year 2017 in order to grant aforesaid compensation; and
(iii) of the factors considered in providing aforesaid compensation?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the amount of money allocated for the compensation provided in support of the three-wheeler drivers who lose their lives due to three-wheeler accidents, for the year 2017;
(ii) of the people got qualified for the compensation by the middle of the year 2017; and
(iii) of the people who were granted with the compensation by the middle of the year 2017?
(c) If not, why?
