Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Mass Media,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the Deficit of Trade Balance in Sri Lanka in the year 2016;
(ii) of the amount of money spent on the importation of petroleum and gold;
(iii) of the export income generated through the export of tea and spices in the year 2016;
(iv) of the measures taken by the government to encourage the relevant sectors with a view to increasing the income generated through tea and spices?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the deficit in the current account in Rupees millions;
(ii) of the balance of net receipts on service account and secondary income;
(iii) of the sources provided to encourage the Tourism Industry promoting the service account;
(iv) of the steps proposed for the encouragement of the remittances received from the persons engaged in foreign employment?
(c) If not, why?
