      Hon. Vasudeva Nanayakkara,—To ask the Minister of Ports and Shipping,—

      (a) Will he inform this House —

      (i) whether it is admitted that a significant delay of 06 to 10 hours resulted when traveling to the Nuge Road Container Inspection Division where containers are currently inspected can be avoided if the land on either side of the Bloomendal entrance to the port is acquired by the port and utilized for the inspection of containers;

      (ii) whether he is aware that the payment of demurrage is profitable for certain importers who purposely delay the clearance of goods that they have imported until their warehouses get emptied; and

      (iii) if so, of the future measures taken with pertinence to (i) and (ii) above?

      (b) If not, why?
