Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of guarded level crossings across main roads and by roads;
(ii) the number of train accidents occurred at unguarded level crossings during the period from the year 2000 to year 2009; and
(iii) separately, the number of persons killed or became disabled from these accidents?
(b) Will he state—
(i) whether action will be taken to fix gates at unguarded level crossings; and
(ii) if so, the date on which it will be started?
(c) If not, why?
