Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of migrant workers who did not return to the country after completing the due period of service in the Middle East countries from the year 2000 up to date;
(ii) the number of complaints received by the Foreign Employment Bureau in that regard;
(iii) the number of investigations conducted in relation to those complaints; and
(iv) the number of complaints of against which investigations were not conducted?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the number of complaints out of which reasons for not returning were found;
(ii) what those reasons are;
(iii) the number of complaints of which reasons for not returning were not found; and
(iv) the measures to be taken in future in regard to the complaints of which reasons for not returning were not found?
(c) If not, why?
