Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of villages affected by the Torque monkey menace in Badulla district;
(ii) the names of those villages;
(iii) whether he is aware that the agricultural activities of the people are hampered by the Torque monkey menace which is rampant in those areas; and
(iv) of the steps intends to take to be taken by the Ministry to pay compensation to farmers in Badulla district whose agricultural activities have been hampered by the Torque monkey menace?
(b) If not, why?
