Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the subject of waste management comes under Provincial Councils in terms of the 13th amendment to the constitution;
(ii) if so, of the names of Provincial Councils that have established separate institutes for solid waste management since the establishment of Provincial Councils to date;
(iii) of the names of Provincial Councils that have not established specific institute for that; and
(iv) of the steps that will be taken by the Ministry of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government regarding establishment of such unique institutes in Provincial Councils where such institutes have not been established?
(b) If not, why?
