Hon. Ananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House in relation to the Kandy District —
(i) of the names of the places of tourist attraction;
(ii) of the names of the institutes that provide accommodation facilities for tourists;
(iii) separately of the number of hotels classified based on the star rating of hotels and the names of those hotels; and
(iv) separately of the names of tourist restaurants classified based on the tourist restaurant grading system?
(b) Will he also inform this House in relation to year 2017—
(i) of the programmes that were implemented by the Ministry for developing the tourism industry;
(ii) of the total amount of money that was spent on those programmes; and
(iii) of the names of the programmes that were implemented in order to improve the security of tourists?
(c) Will he state of the special plans that have been prepared for attracting more tourists in the coming years?
(d) If not, why?
