Hon. S. C. Mutukumarana,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he accepts that high quality Organic Fertilizer should be manufactured so as to avoid the farmers from using Chemical Fertilizer;
(ii) of the quantity of Organic Fertilizer that was manufactured during the period from 2014 to 2017, separately as per each year;
(iii) whether there is a quality assessment process on aforesaid type of fertilizer;
(iv) whether there are institutions that certify the quality of aforesaid fertilizer;
(v) if so, of the names of aforesaid institutions; and
(vi) whether an institution will be set up, if same is unavailable for quality assessment purpose?
(b) If not, why?
