Hon S. Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Governments has submitted a proposal to build 1000 bridges in Northern and Eastern Provinces; and
(ii) aforesaid project is of no any assistance for the activities of the people of the aforesaid areas?
(b) Will he inform this house—
(i) of the details of the bridges constructed in each district of the Northern province under this 1000 bridges project;
(ii) of the details of the contractors of this project;
(iii) whether the designs of aforesaid bridges meet with requirements of the area; and
(iv) if not, whether it has been done in accordance with designs which have been created in a foreign country;
(c) Will he state—
(i) of the number of bridges in Killinochchi district for which allocations have been made under this project;
(ii) of the number of bridges, completed;
(iii) of the number of bridges, under construction;
(iv) of the number of bridges to be constructed; and
(v) of the details of the contractors of aforesaid bridges?
(d) If not, why?
