      Hon. T. Ranjith De Zoysa,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs,—

      (a) Will he inform the House—

      (i) whether he is aware that officers of the Forest Conservation Department have ordered the suspension of cultivation which had been conducted up to the Maha Season of 2016/2017 since the year 1984 on lands located within the Grama Niladhari Division of Panama South in the Lahugala Divisional Secretariat Division belonging to Ampara District;

      (ii) if so, what the reasons for it are;

      (iii) which officer gave the order for that purpose;

      (iv) whether permission has been given to farmers to resume cultivation on the lands in question; and

      (v) if so, on what date such permission was given?

      (b) If not, why?
