Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Finance,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the officers who became eligible within 2016 to obtain the second vehicle on concessionary basis have been subjected to severe injustice as a result of extending the five year period that had been provided to officers of the statutory institutions to obtain the second vehicle in the importation of vehicles on concessionary basis through Circular No. 01/2010 dated 10.12.2010 up to 10 years by the implementation of the Circular No. 01/2016 dated 14.07.2016 effective from 21.11.2015;
(ii) the officers who retired from 2016 up to 08.06.2018 were deprived of that entitlement as a result of reducing that period again to 5 years by implementing Circular No. 01/2018 (1) dated 08.06.2018 effective from 09.06.2018;
(iii) these officers have been deprived of the permit worth Rs.3.6 million the retired officers of the same level in other institutions were entitled to through the Circular 01/2018 (1), as dates had not been mentioned in the Cabinet decision relevant to the said Circular No. 01/2018(1) as 08.06.2018 or 09.06.2018; and
(iv) Accordingly, will he inform this House whether this permit will be provided to all the officers who retired from 2016 up to 08.06.2018 who had fulfilled the qualifications as per the Circular of 2015?
