Hon. (Dr.) (Ms.) Harini Amarasuriya,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the notice published by the University Grants Commission on 08.04.2019 with regard to university admissions is the basis on which students who sat for their G.C.E. (Advance Level) Examinations in 2019 (new and old syllabi) to be admitted to the universities;
(ii) whether there are any changes to the above formula for university admissions;
(iii) if so, the justification for any such change;
(iv) how those changes will be accommodated;
(v) whether it is possible for the University Grants Commission to make public all the details with regard to university admissions including the formula and its application when deciding how many students are admitted from the old and new syllabi; and
(vi) why these details are not made public?
(b) If not, why?
