Hon. (Dr.) Suren Raghavan,— To ask the Minister of Justice,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of political prisoners in Sri Lanka, if any;
(ii) the number of such prisoners, separated according to their ethnicity;
(iii) the name of the longest incarcerated prisoner among them; and
(iv) what length of time has he spent in imprisonment by now?
(b) Will he also inform the House—
(i) the number of persons who had been involved in terrorist activities, if any, among the prisoners;
(ii) the number of such prisoners, separated according to their ethnicity;
(iii) the name of the longest incarcerated prisoner among them; and
(iv) what length of time has he spent in imprisonment by now?
(c) Will he further inform this House—
(i) whether steps will be taken to expedite the activities pertaining to the prosecutions against the suspects of terrorist activities and to mete out justice to them; and
(ii) whether the children who had been recruited forcibly for terrorist activities will be rehabilitated and re-integrated into the society?
(d) If not, why?
