      Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Plantation Industries,—

      (a) Is he aware that—

      (i) the tea factory of Thalgampola, Gonamulla, Wewegoda in Akmeemana of Galle District has been closed for about five years now;

      (ii) therefore, the tea small holders of the said area have to face several difficulties, in selling their leaf tea; and

      (iii) property, valued over ten million rupees, is going waste inside the aforesaid factory?

      (b) Will he state—

      (i) the reasons for the closure of that tea factory;

      (ii) whether steps will be taken to restart production, as it is a national crime to leave such a tea factory to destruction; and

      (iii) if so, when?

      (c) If not, why?
