Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the estimated cost and the final cost of Deduru Oya reservoir project separately;
(ii) whether the work of that project has been completed by now;
(iii) the objectives of commencing that project; and
(iv) whether those objectives have been achieved by now?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) the maximum volume of water planned to be released through the right bank canal and left bank canal of Deduru Oya reservoir separately;
(ii) whether water is released as planned through the right bank canal and left bank canal after the completion of that project; and
(iii) whether he admits that the structures of the right bank and the left bank have been constructed without a proper foundation or proper connections?
(c) Will he further state—
(i) the expected benefits of the said project; and
(ii) the cost of acquisition of land for the project and payment of compensation for the lands submerged, separately?
If not, why?
