Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of circulars issued by the Ministry of Education from year 2015 to date regarding the maximum number of students in a classroom of government school;
(ii) separately, the dates of each circular was issued; and
(iii) separately, the maximum number of students in a classroom of
a government school as directed by each circular?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) if a decision has been taken recently to increase the maximum number of students to 45, the reasons behind it; and
(ii) of the measures that will be taken by the ministry to review it, since the education trade unions have strongly opposed the aforesaid decision?
(c) If not, why?
