Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the extent of land, acquired by the government for the Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project, in hectares;
(ii) of the total amount of compensation to be paid for the aforesaid lands;
(iii) of the reasons, if the interest had to be paid for aforesaid compensations;
(iv) of the reasons, for the overpayment of interest amounting to Rs. 4,620,420/= by Wellawaya Divisional Secretariat;
(v) whether steps have been taken to recover such overpaid interest; and
(vi) if not, the reasons?
(b) If not, why?
