Hon. Hector Appuhamy,— To ask the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the date on which the Police unit of Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment was established and the date on which it was removed;
(ii) of the reasons for removing that unit;
(iii) whether he admits that the decision to remove the said Police unit was taken without a legal and logical basis in a backdrop where bribery, fraud and corruption have increased in the foreign employment sector; and
(iv) if so, of the measures taken to reestablish that Police unit?
(b) If not, why?
