Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of tanks located in the Delft island of Jaffna;
(ii) separately, the number of tanks which are utilized for irrigation purposes and which are not utilized for irrigation purposes;
(iii) separately, the volume of water of the aforesaid tanks?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) the names of the tanks that have been renovated by now, out of the tanks located in the Delft island;
(ii) the amount of money that has been allocated for the renovation of the aforesaid tanks;
(iii) the period of time that will be taken to renovate the tanks which have not hitherto been renovated?
(c) Will he further state—
(i) whether a certain methodology has been formed to get drinking water from the tanks located in this island as a solution to the drinking water issue which is prevalent there;
(ii) if not, the reasons for not having such methodology?
(d) If not, why?
