Hon. Niroshan Perera,—To ask the Minister of Transport and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he admits the fact that a large number of containers are transported to Colombo Port from different areas of Sri Lanka annually;
(ii) whether it has been proposed that Sri Lanka Railways can transport the aforesaid containers to Colombo Port;
(iii) If so, of such proposals; and
(iv) whether the aforesaid proposals have been implemented as of now?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether it has been proposed that Sri Lanka Railways can transport the petroleum imported to Sri Lanka to different areas;
(ii) If so, of such proposals; and
(iii) whether the aforesaid proposals have been implemented as of now?
(c) If not, why?
