Hon. Upul Mahendra Rajapaksha,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the cattle species in Sri Lanka;
(ii) whether there are cattle breeds endemic to each region;
(iii) of the number of dairy cattle in Sri Lanka;
(iv) of the amount of daily milk production of each species of dairy cattle, separately in liters; and
(v) of the number of pregnant cattle as of now?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether an extensive amount of money is spent to import milk powder; and
(ii) if so, steps taken to safeguard the dairy cattle and dairy farmers in Sri Lanka?
(c) If not, why?
