Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade,—
(a) Will he state separately in relation to each year—
(i) the amount of money spent by the Paddy Marketing Board to purchase paddy from the farmers during the period from the year 2008 to the year 2011;
(ii) the quantity of paddy used for production of rice, out of the aforesaid paddy stocks; and
(iii) the value of the quantity of paddy that was destroyed inside the warehouses of the Paddy Marketing Board due to damage caused by pests or negligence ?
(b) Will he inform this House of the course of action taken regarding the stocks of paddy that were destroyed due to damage caused by pests or other causes after being purchased by the Paddy Marketing Board ?
(c) If not, why ?
