Hon. Hesha Withanage Ankumbura Arachchi,—To ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the Ruhunu Tourist Bureau has started the Madunagala Tourist Project;
(ii) of the amount of money that has been spent to construct a building to establish a heart massage (heart revival) centre using hot water springs in Madunagala; and
(iii) of the steps that will be taken to complete the construction of that building as the work of that building has not yet been finished;
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) separately, of the amount of money that has been spent on the cafeteria, restroom and dining hall that have been constructed in the Madunagala Tourist Zone under this project;
(ii) whether he is aware that the generators at the tourist bungalow, which was constructed at a considerable expense, are currently out of order and the roof is in a dilapidated condition;
(iii) of the amount of money that has been spent to construct the rural bazaar;
(iv) whether he is aware that the bazaar is in ruins by now; and
(v) of the steps that will be taken to re-implement that project?
(c) If not, why?
