Hon. Ajith P. Perera,—To ask the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the date on which the Kalutara District Sports Complex constructed in Bandaragama within Kalutara District was declared open;
(ii) of the amount that was spent for the construction of the Sports Complex concerned;
(iii) whether he is aware that the Sports Complex has declined due to poor maintenance;
(iv) of the steps that will be taken to improve its 400-metre running track to proper standard; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to develop the land belonging to the Sports Complex which is situated outside its security wall, in order to make the land concerned suitable for parking vehicles?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware of the agreement which the Sports Development Department has reached with Sri Lanka Cricket pertaining to the Sports Complex; and
(ii) of the reasons for not implementing the proposals made for developing the playground of the Sports Complex in collaboration with Sri Lanka Cricket to make it suitable for playing cricket,?
(c) If not, why?
